Dr Ann Higgins is a Co- Pastor of Creative Christian Arts Ministries International. Dr. Ann Peterson-Higgins has been working in the area of the performing Arts for over thirty (30) years. She started dancing at the age of 15 while in high school. Her work experience started in 1975 in Freeport, Grand Bahama at the El Casino Kasbah. She has performed in six major productions from 1975 – 1983 as Lead Dancer and Line Captain. On February 10th, 1985 the greatest event in Ann’s life took place, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. As a result of her new Life in Christ, Ann began to turn her talents, gifts and abilities over to God. She then started a new career as an Exercise Instructor working in several well known Health Spas in Nassau Bahamas. Ann then became very popular in this area through her Television Program Exercising By Faith.

Dr. Higgins started a dance school in 1987 Exercise by Faith, Fitness and Dance Studies, the first Christian Dance Studio in the Bahamas. Hundreds of children continue to pass through the doors of that school. Over 85 Dance Leaders from difference demonations are now leading and teaching others in Church. A Christian Dance Fellowship was also formed by Dr. Higgins. She was Co-ordinator of Christian Dance Fellowship Bahamas (CDFB) and a member of the International Christian Dance Fellowship (ICDF). Dr. Higgins along with her husband Henry, are the co-ordinators of Caribbean Christian Dance Network (CCDN) a conference that draws dancers from around the world together every year. Dr. Higgins has written two books Born to Dance and The Purpose of the Dance.

Dr. Higgins is very influential in her community and has a great impact on the lives of many young men and women. She has pioneer Liturgical Dance in her country being the first to introduce such form of Art. She is employed with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture as Special Project Officer and Co-ordinator for Liturgical Dance in the Country. She assists as the choreographer for great events such as the Independence Celebrations and the Bahamas Olympic Games and other Special Events. She served as a Dance Leader for Bahamas Faith Ministries International for 19 years; the Pastor is Dr. Myles Monroe.

Dr. Higgins is a graduate of Friends International Christian University, where she received a B.A. Degree in Religious Dance including Choreography Level I & II, a M.A. in Religious Dance and a Doctorate in Ministry.

She has travelled throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, China, the USA and the Caribbean. Dr. Higgins and her husband are Founders of Creative Christian Arts International and Directors of the Bahamas National Liturgical Dancer School and Company. They are the proud parents of seven (7) children; five (5) boys and two (2) girls and eight (8) grand children. Their goal is to continually bring souls into the Kingdom of God through the Creative Arts.

Pastor Henry Higgins is the Pastor of Creative Christian Arts Ministries International. Pastor Henry Higgins began studying Bahamian Folk Dance at the age of 5 years, under the tutelage of his cousin Sam Webb and his grandfather Bertram Bonamy in Arthur’s Town Cat Island. While at the Stephen Dillette Primary School he also took up drama as one of his classes. In 1974 he joined the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps where he played the tom tom drums and was a drill and flag attendant.

In 1979 he attended Government High School where he studied drama under Mrs. Helen Moree and dance under Mr. Ednal Wright. He led in productions such as Witch-hunt and Purlie. He also was a National Arts Festival winner in 1980 in the drama category. He also attended the National Dance School under the tutelage of Ms. Shirley Hall Bass. He led his school in winning the National High School Dance Championships and worked as a part time dancer at the Ronnie’s Rebel Room and the Ambassador Beach Hotel.

At the Church of God of Prophecy, Henry served as a choir director, marching band member and the choreographer for a number of church productions. He was also a member of the Nassau Players Drama Group and a member of two gospel-singing groups, the Gospel Hummingbirds and the Dynamic Gospel Flames in which he played the drums.

Henry began teaching dance in 1987 and has been teaching dance throughout the Bahamas and the United States for the last 17 years. In 1990 he formed The Cultural Explosion Dance Company and in 1991 he was chosen to be the choreographer for the Shell Saxon Superstars a major cultural Junkanoo group in the Bahamas. He has represented the Bahamas locally and internationally in the area of dance and junkanoo. In 1998 Henry re-dedicated his life to Christ.

In 2002 Henry and his wife Ann formed the Bahamas National Liturgical Dance Company whose vision is to represent the Bahamas spiritually and culturally throughout the world. Henry’s ultimate vision is to take the Performing Arts and The Culture of The Bahamas to glorify God.
